"1959, Massey Ferguson 780 special"

Featured in several illustrations, Stevens' 1959 Massey Ferguson 780 special combine, this can usually be seen displayed at the annual Pebmarsh Country Show.
The combine has so far earned over £200 for Pebmarsh primary school from the "Auction of Promises" events, where anyone can bid for donated "Lots". Probably unique,
people have bid money to drive and cut corn [ under supervision !] with this vintage combine.

Channel 4 "Salvage Squad" made a programme about the restoration of a very similar 1955, 780 combine, here is the link for the story.

Cutting Barley, along side Chris Nott's modern New Holland combine in
Pebmarsh, 2001.

The combine in "as found condition" on route
to it's new home, 1999.

Zebedee and Queenie

These are the two Suffolk Punch horses shown in my fine art print Suffolk Horses Ploughing. I visited Gressenhall Rural Life Museum, in Norfolk on 26th August 2002, where Zebedee and Queenie live. I was lucky enough to be given the chance to plough with the horses, while their owner, Richard Dalton, took these photographs.
Zebedee (left) was born in 1985, Queenie (right) in 1990. The Suffolk Punch is rarer than the Giant Panda. There are only around 300 of this breed left.

Scooby

Full Name Scooby-Doo , but normally known as Just Scooby. A pedigree border collie, born 9.9.99. Scooby was only eight months old when his owners decided to move to Spain. Scooby could not be taken with them, so he was given away to Peter Smith, my parents next door neighbour.

Scooby has so far featured in the following paintings:-
